At 9:44 crews were dispatched to 185 Fairbalt Lane for the report of a residential structure fire. Tanker 241 and Chief 205 arrived on scene to find a single wide mobile home with a working fire in a bedroom. Each year, the National Fallen Firefighter's Foundation hosts a remembrance for fallen firefighters that made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The darkest day in our department was when we lost Chief Holden following a Trench rescue response into a neighboring district. Chief Holden will forever be missed but never forgotten as each year we remember our friend, coworker and brother.

We will be hosting training for the rest of the fire departments with response areas inside of Orange County this coming Saturday (April 20). The training will occur near the intersection of NC Highway 57 and Schley Road north of Hillsborough.
There'll be an increase in fire trucks in the area starting a little before 8am Saturday and continuing until around 4pm.
