Interstate Crash Closes Orange Grove Road

We are currently working a crash on Interstate 85 that damaged the bridge that crosses over Orange Grove Road. Orange Grove Road is closed in both directions and will remain closed for several hours until NCDOT arrives and makes the needed repairs. Please avoid the area.... (Full Story)

Crew Deployed to Polk County, NC

At 1400 hours this afternoon, we deployed an engine crew to Polk County North Carolina to assist with protecting property and extinguishing fires. The crew will report to Mill Spring, NC to sign in and receive their specific mission orders which could include: Building fire containment line in the woodland to direct or contain fire movement, Prepping structures to make them more fire resistive should ... Home Defense for Wildland Fires

We had a busy weekend around the county dealing with fires that spread to wooded areas and lawns. Our friends at Eno Fire and Rescue had the largest wildland fire with around 12 acres burned and many houses saved. Busy Week for Firefighters

Call volume and training over the past seven days has put our crews through the ringer. Starting on Wednesday February 19th, we responded to multiple vehicle crashes along Interstates 85 and 40. These incidents began when snow fall made travel conditions difficult and lasted until well into the morning of February 20th. Department Hosting Training Burn

On January 25th, Orange Rural Fire Department will be hosting a county wide fire department mutual aid training session in the 3000 block of NC Highway 57. Firefighters from around the area will converge on the site to practice fire suppression tactics, hose line movement, air pack use and rural water supply operations.
