Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation holds a yearly tribute to firefighters that have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The tribute shows support for the firefighter and the families they left behind by asking everyone to light up their homes, businesses, government buildings and monuments with red lighting. Lithium Ion Battery Safety

With Schools in Orange and surrounding counties using Distance Learning, beware of devices that contain Lithium Batteries. Never keep them plugged in for long periods of time, especially overnight.

Our crews spent time today making repairs to the department's aerial platform. During a recent inspection it was found that the wiring for the aerial ladder had damaged insulation. Department personnel ordered the replacement wire, removed the damaged wiring and installed new in its place. Hot cars can be deadly for children, pets

More children died from being left in hot cars in 2018 than ever before!

Seven children across the country have already died this year because they were left in a hot car, including a 9-month-old in Wilkes County, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina Department of Insurance.
