Holden and Miller Families Make Donation

On Tuesday May 4th, the Holden family and Miller family visited the fire station to make a donation of $11,000 to the fire department's training budget. The money will be used to fund upcoming Trench Rescue training for the department as well as all other fire and rescue departments that respond in Orange County. Recent wet weather resulted in flooding and errosion where we typically haven't seen in recent years. As we look for more secluded places to build our homes we find that we have to bridge creeks and low lying areas in order to access our home sites. Time Changes Sunday 14 March

Daylight Savings time starts Sunday morning March 14th at 0200. As a reminder, please change your smoke detector batteries when you change your clocks. Smoke detectors have a 10 year life span so while you are changing batteries it might also be a good time to check the date on the detector. Kenion Road Woods Fire 10 March

At 1419 hours today, A-Shift responded to a large woods fire in the 500 block of Kenion Road. Upon arrival of the first Chief Officer, he reported a large fire in the woods. Using leaf blowers and hand rakes, crews installed fire breaks around the fire to contain the spread and protect multiple structures and some farm machinery.
