At 1324 hours today, C-Shift was dispatched to a structure fire on Blair Drive in southern Hillsborough. The first unit to arrive on scene reported an out building fully involved, the woods close by the out building on fire and the outer walls and roof of a nearby residence beginning to smoke. C-Shift arrived on scene and through an aggressive fire attack was able to quickly control the majority of the fire. Mutual aid units arrived and joined in the fire fight by helping locate smoldering hot spots and extinguishing them. While crews were extinguishing the structure fire, Chief Capps put in fire line around the woods fire to contain and stop the spread.
The home was vacant at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Orange County Fire Marshal.
We would like the thank Efland, New Hope and Orange Grove fire departments for sending personnel and equipment to assist with this fire.
