Recognition of Fallen Firefighters

On May 6th and 7th, the National Fallen Firefighter's Memorial Service will be held at the memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland. During the memorial service, we will recognize the fallen firefighters from throughout our nation that have lost their lives in the line of duty for the past year. Names of the fallen will be forever enscibed on the plaques at the memorial which is located adjacent to the National Fire Academy.
On May 12th and 13th, the North Carolina Fallen Firefighter's Foundation will hold a state memorial service to honor the fallen firefighters from across our state. During the memorial service, we will recognize the firefighters from across the State of North Carolina that have lost their lives in the line of duty for the past year. Names of the fallen are enscribed on plaques at the memorial which is located at Nash Square in downtown Raleigh.
In honor of the all of the fallen firefighters from here at homw to around the world, we will be changing the ouside lightbulbs at our main fire station as well as the sign color for Fire Station 4 to red for the month of May.
We ask and urge all citizens to put in red lights to honor the fallen as a gesture of thanks to the families that have paid the ultimate sacrifice so that others may live.
