| Remembering "Stan" This day in 2018 started as usual around the fire station, but ended horribly. What started out as a mutual aid request for rope rescue would end with the loss of one of the greatest people to ever join our department. When a person enters the fire service, it's usually because they just want to help others, love the adrenaline rush associated with emergency response, or, in some cases, are just searching for a job. When you are in the fire service and lose part of your family on a call, you find yourself searching for why you really are a firefighter and asking yourself, "Is it worth it?". Hug your loved ones and tell them you love them, often. Please say a little prayer for peace and continued healing for the family of Chief Holden and his fire families. We are forever remembering our friend, coach, teacher, and leader, Jeffrey "Stan" Holden. Last alarm August 18, 2018 |
