At 0923 today, C-Shift responded to a garage on fire on Worth Street. While enroute, crews reported high volumes of smoke visible from 1/4 mile away. On arrival they found a detached garage fully engulfed in flames and fire spreading to the home near the garage. An aggressive fire attack lead to a quick knockdown on the fire. The home was checked for fire extension and found that all fire was contained to the exterior walls and a small portion of the attic. The garage and its' contents were a total loss. From time of dispatch to arrival of the first fire engine was just under five minutes which helped to reduce the amount of fire damage to the home. We want to thank New Hope, Eno, and Orange Grove for the mutual aid. We also want to thank the Orange County Sherriff's Office for their help at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Orange County Fire Marshall's office. |
