At 1517 hours today, A-Shift responded to a reported structure fire on NC 57 North. On arrival they found a significant amount of fire coming from the second floor and roof of a house. An aggressive fire attack stopped the fire from spreading to other portions of the building. A search of the structure revealed that the house was vacant at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Orange County Fire Marshall's Office. Crews had to shut down traffic on NC57 near the fire scene until the fire was under control. We want to thank Eno Fire, Caldwell Fire, Cedar Grove Fire and Orange County EMS for the mutual aid today. We also want to thank the Fire Marshall's Office, Sherriff's Department and NC Highway Patrol for their assistance with the scene.
