In June of 2023, our department opened our newest fire station in the Waterstone Community to improve coverage and reduce response times to the southern portions of our fire district.
We decided to run the reports and see how much of an impact the new station has made on the total coverage for the department.
From June 1, 2023 to June 1, 2024 our Waterstone Station responded to 993 calls for service.

Here's a quick breakdown of the major calls:
198 medical emergencies
87 motor vehicle accidents with injuries
139 motor vehicle collisions with no injuries
220 assistance calls for downed trees, traffic control, lift assists, etc..
89 fire alarm activations
85 other miscellaneous fire responses including four building fires.
Various other call types in lower numbers make up the rest of the responses.

For comparison, the district is covered by four stations and the total district call volume for the same period was 2,663.
Fire District 1 has the highest population and continues to have the highest call volume at 1,388 for the period making Fire District 4 the second busiest section of our service area.

Thank you to all of the people that made the Waterstone Station a reality for our department, the citizens and visitors to the areas that we serve.

Units: 234, 284
