If significant or long-term power outages occur in areas where internet or cell system infrastructure is located, most internet and cell phone services can shut down after approximately two to three hours without power. It will be like living in the 1900's for some of us... It is recommended that everyone make arrangements or contingency plans in case of a loss of cell or internet service.
The forecast predicts several days of below-freezing temperatures. Outdoor faucets and buried water lines that typically remain unaffected may freeze due to sustained low temperatures.
Please be reminded that burning propane, natural gas, or gasoline produces Carbon Monoxide. Carbon Monoxide is colorless, odorless, and deadly. If you use gas stoves, gas logs, generators, or any other type of burning process for heating, do so safely and ensure you have a working Carbon Monoxide detector.
Downed power lines and trees that are in contact with power lines can be energized and have no visible indicator of the danger. Please don't touch or try to cross a downed power line. Keep children and pets away from trees that appear to be in contact with any powerlines.
